To check if the heater is faulty, you can use a multimeter to test for continuity. You should receive a reading between 1-50 ohms, otherwise the part is defective and should be replaced.

These heaters melt the frost that builds up on the evaporator coils during the cooling cycle. This kit comes with two radiant glass heaters that are joined with a wire. The heaters are each approximately 9 inches long, each can carry 500 watts, and 115 volts. To successfully install this replacement part you will need a nutdriver, pliers, and screw drivers. Before beginning this repair make sure you have unplugged your refrigerator.
