The dryer would sqeak when starting, after running it would quiet down. I thought as long as I had another repair to do, I would replace the belt with a new one.
I removed two nut head screws on the base front panel. Pull the panel downward and the panel came off. Then I removed the two nut head screws off the bottom of the door frame.Pulled out the front frame and pulled slightly downward. I removed the wire connections that were on the door light switch. Then removed the door, and set it aside. With the door removed, I could see the dryer barrel and the belt wrapping around it. I then removed the front frame by taking out the four bolt head screws. I removed the frame panel. Looking in you can see the barrel with the belt around it. I slid the belt off to the rear of the barrel. I then slid the barrel out the front of the case. I then removed the belt. I installed the new belt around the idler arm and the motor shaft. (lay the belt in the rear of the case. Then reinstalled the barrel and set it on the two rollers in the rear. I then reached around the barrel toward the rear of the case and pulled the belt up and over the top of the barrel.Keeping the ribbed side down against the drum.
Put the front frame and four screws back on, keeping the barrel centered and seated in the frame front. Then reattach the door and door frame, making sure to rehook the wires for the door light switch. Then reattach the bottom two screws and the bottom panel. All done.

Dryer drum wouldn't turn and motor would shut off
First I was told by the maytag repair man that the motor was shot and it would be 467 dollars to repair. Since I didn't have that kind of money I decided to take it apart to see if I could replace the motor myself. Once I had it apart I saw the part that held the motor in place was broken off and the motor was out of place causing it too shut itself off. Once I figured it all out it took about 2 minutes to replace the less than 6 dollar part! Thanks partSelect!!!

The dryer tumbler belt broke
I opened the dryer by lifting the top and propping it open. I unscrewed two screws on either side with a flat-blade screwdriver, unclipped the dryer stop door micro switch. I slid the new belt over the drum to the center, then used the flashlight to see where it went. There is a tension wheel that had to be pulled to the right and with t he belt in place release against the belt to apply constant pressure during operation. I vacuumed the dryer out and put it back together
