The tub was bouncing around everywhere, the suspension rod wasn’t actually the problem but that had nothing to do with the part
Unscrewed the top of the washer after disconnecting the hoses. Tipped the matching on its back. Places a 2x4 underneath the tub to release the tension on the rods, then just popped the old one out and put the new one in. Tipped the machine back up and reconnected everything.
