The compactor works correctly informal mode. However, in "hold" mode, the ram moves down and stops in a few seconds. It returns to home position if I change from hold to normal mode. What's wrong?

Hello David, thank you for writing. If only working " correctly sometimes" we recommend replacing the Display Module PS2345480. It displays the compactor settings and lets you select and start the cycle. Good luck with your repair.
