Hi Ella, Thank you for your question. Before filling the tank with water, please unplug the steamer from the electrical outlet. Then remove the tank by pulling it off of the handle. The tank will be found on the bottom section of the handle. Once the tank has been removed, remove the rubber stopper and fill the tank with water. Then reinstall the rubber stopper and push the tank back onto the handle until you hear it click into place. We hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know.
