Hello Lee, thank you for writing. Here is a potential fix. Unplug the refrigerator for 10 seconds. Plug it back in if the display panel is flashing or displays the message "88 88". This will reset the processor and should fix the problem. If that is not helping, You many need to replace the Led Light Assembly PS4139877. We hope this helps.

Evaporator frozen (refrigrator section) and allowing top section to lose cooling
This is the Samsung French door refrigerator style that so many people have complained about freezing up and not cooling the top section. I first changed out the defrost thermostat and this did not correct the problem. I done a quick resistance check on the temp sensor that's mounted on the evaporator itself. The resistance would change w hen holding an ice cube on the sensor so I just assumed it was ok. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: When performing a resistance check on this sensor, make sure your readings match the Samsung temp/resistance chart in their literature. My sensor was way off calibration and was causing the freeze up. Its working as designed now and DW is happy again. Learn from my mistake.

Refrigerator was freezing food on the bottom shelves
It was simple. I pulled out the old seal from the track it was tucked in and put the new one in using a wood spatula to help along the folding part of the door that fits behind the other door. I replaced both seals under 15 minutes. I am a 63 year old female so I know if I can do it so can you!
Tip: make sure that you line up the to p and bottom and from side to side evenly before you start pressing it into the track.
Refrigerator is working properly now.
