The installation video notes that the door mullion spring has a bent end, and that the bent end of the spring is to be inserted into the LOWER hinge. Read more he installer manually closed the door mullion rather than just closing the refrigerator door, another indication that the installation of the spring was incorrect.) After watching the video several times to confirm I was installing the door mullion spring according to the video instructions, I tried inserting the bent end of the door mullion spring into the upper hinge, which proved to be the correct installation of the door mull spring. What should have been a 5 minute repair turned into an ½ hour repair.

Took shelving out of freezer removed panel. Took second panel
out and removed motor. Whole repair took 45 minutes. Works perfect

Unscrewed 1 screw, removed panel, disconnected old icemaker and removed it, Added new icemaker, reconnected, replaced panel, replaced screw, & reset new icemaker. Started making ice almost immediately. Threw out entire first load of ice. Working great since! I wasn’t sure if it was the icemaker or the water valve to it so had a guy come ... Read more out ($50) who confirmed it was the icemaker. He wanted $550 to replace it (part/labor). We bought the part here at Part Select for $185 (part/tax/delivery) and saved $265 on a job that took less than 15 minutes.
