I replaced the temperature sensor controller and it still gets stuck in defrost mode. Could the new control board be bad? Does this control board start/end the defrost cycle since there is no separate defrost timer? Thank you for all your help! (both LG and ge make 33” wide replacement units at the same price. The LG is clearly better cabinet wise. Does ge have any reason you would choose it over LG?)

Hi William,
Thank you for your question. The main electronic control board controls the defrost cycles in the refrigerator. If it is not working correctly and you have just replaced it, it may be defective. The part number listed under your model number for the main electronic control board is FIX3625119. You should also check the defrost heater, part number FIX3529165, and the defrost sensor assembly, part number FIX3529165. We have included a link from our website that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!
The unit stopped cooling. I replaced the compressor board (bad capacitor) and the start relay. The start capacitor tested ok. The unit is now working and making ice. The refrigerator section and freezer section have the proper temperatures. But, when it goes into automatic defrost, the freezer section fully thaws. It seem to stay in the defrost mode too long. Freezer section goes to 45 f and ice cubes completely melt. Can you help me? Thanks.
