Basic Filter Water Replacement
First I located the filter on the the unit, (luckily it was right up front so I didn't have to move the unit), then I placed a towel down under where the filter would travel when it was removed from the unit, just to catch the water that was still in the filter itself, (no need to turn the water off at the valve for this particular unit)

I gripped the front of the filter and turned it counter clockwise about a quarter of a turn and slid the filter straight out, then I removed the thumb screw attachment on the end of the old filter and placed it on the new filter, (this is done by sliding the unit to one end or the other), then I removed the protective cap from the opposite end of the filter and discarded it, then I slid the new filter into place (lining it up until it goes all the way in and turned it clockwise that same quarter of a turn.

I broke the old cap trying to turn the filter cc wise.
I installed the new cap on a new filter, which I will install when the old filter needs replacing. No tools required, but it is sometimes difficult to turn the filter cc wise, when replacing.
