The freezer won’t stop running. And ice is building up on the door
For model number FFSS2314QE5A
Hello Christine, thank you for contacting us. There could be a few reasons why your freezer is not stopping and ice is building up on the door. Here are a few things you can try:
1. Check the temperature setting on the freezer. If it is set too low, it may cause the freezer to run constantly. Also, inspect the thermistor assembly, part number FIX8760187.
2. Make sure the door is closing properly and is not letting in warm air from outside.
3. Check the door seal and make sure it is not damaged or broken. If the door seal, part number FIX1991331, is damaged, it may allow warm air to enter the freezer, causing it to run constantly.
4. Check the condenser coils and make sure they are not blocked by dust or debris. If the condenser coils are blocked, it can cause the freezer to run constantly.
5. Check the evaporator fan and make sure it is functioning properly. If the evaporator fan is not working, it can cause the freezer to run constantly and the fan motor, part number FIX12729077, is the likely culprit.
If this does not help the issue is probably related to the electronic control board, part number FIX10060580. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

Even though my wife said that our icemaker broke, there was actually nothing wrong with it. It was the valve that let water flow in during the 'harvest' cycle. A real easy way to test the icemaker without voltage and current measurements, is to fill the tray by hand with a little cup of water; wait till the water freezes and see if t

Used pliers to remove the residual broken stud that was still attached to the wall of the refrigerator, and then just pushed the new part in place. The longest time was spent in removing the food and crisper drawers.
