Burnt out broiler element
Turned off power to range because I was scared. Unscrewed broiler element, pulled part forward and pulled off wires that were attached to the back, attached wires to new element, pushed it back in place, screwed it back on to oven. Cooked my bruchette!

My stove top is 30 years old. I was down to one knob. I looked up the part by brand and age. the pictures were accurate and the size dimensions were perfect.
Pulled off the one remaining knob, installed the new ones. One minute and the stove works perfectly.

Broken knobs from highly enthusiastic cleaning ladies...
In my perpetual state of optimism, I hoped that the part description was incorrect and that the cost for the knob was actually a cost for a set of knobs. Woe to the consumer who doubts his own eyes! Yes, you will be paying about $25 after s/h for a single knob- but it matches, it works, it fits, and it takes less than 2 seconds to install, so kudos to the manufacturer who knew this would be a good form of supplemental income from their product... I still adore Whirlpool despite their exorbitant pricing on plastic knobs... :)

Broiler wouldn't heat
First I removed the ovem door, then I removed the 4 screws, unplugged element and plugged in the new one, then replace the screws and door. It should have been a 10 min job but I'm old and a bit fat...slowed me down.

The upper broiler element had burnt and broken into.
I must compliment PartSelect on their quick responce and delivery of the item ordered. It arrived a day after I had ordered it. Trust me, the $40.00 I spent on the item was way cheaper than having a repair service fix it or having the entire oven replaced. I would highly recomend anyone to utilize PartSelect.

Broiler element would not work/heat up
First I turned the power off at the breaker box. Then I removed the two screws at the rear of the oven and un-secured the three clips(top of stove) that all hold the element in place. Carefully I pulled the element out of the back of the stove to expose and pull out the electrical wires and their connectors. At this point I used the multimeter to CONFIRM no power. With no power present I un-clipped the electrical connections and then did all the above steps in reverse. 15 - 20 minutes total repair time.

Element burnt out
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Ordered new part on-line for less than 1/2 of local price...including shipping. Local shop would have taken 10 days for part at twice the price. Mine arrived in 72 hours...and Sunday dinner was saved!

Broiler unit would not heat
The broiler unit had disintegrated at both connections. I removed the two screws in the top of the oven holder the unit, pulled out the unit, measured and ordered a replacement.

To replace the element, I pulled out the stove, removed the rear panel, located the connections for the broiler unit, remove parts of the old unit. I then attached the new unit to the top of the oven with the two screws, went around back and pushed in the two connections, replaced the back cover and replace the stove. It took about 30 minutes because I cleaned everything and sprayed bug spay (another plus for doing the repair myself).

The oven knobs were missing on my stove.
I opened the door to recieve the parcel from the courier. I opened the envelope containing the knobs. I took the knobs out of their plastic bags. I then place the knobs on the control stubs. The whole project took less than a minute and would not have been possible without PartSelect.com.

Thanks for everything!

Sincerely,

Dean Harley

Broiler did not work.
We had to take the back off the stove and disconnect the old element. One side had bad wiring. we had to repair the wires and inserted the new element. The job would not have taken so long if there were any kind of instructions.
