The oven's bottom bake element burned up
First I turned the circuit breaker switch off for the stove unit. I then removed the two screws that hold the element in place at the back of the oven. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. I attached the new element, bolting the wires into place and then screwed the element back into place on the back wall of the oven. I flipped the breaker switch back on, and turned on the oven. I was done in roughly 15 minutes. The most difficult part was having to shine a flash light into the oven to replace the part, and negotiating the hard cold kitchen floor.

The oven element burned completely into.
I first removed the two screws holding the element in place. Then I pulled the element out about 2 or 3 inches and then took out the 2 small screws holding the 2 wires in place. I then removed the old element and discarded it and installed the new one in the reverse order that I took out the old one. It was quite easy to do, only took about 10 to 15 minutes total time.

Could not find a replacement part anywhere
The Surface Element on our GE stove made in the mid 70's finally gave up and would not heat. I went to several of the big home improvement stove with not luck in finding the right heating element for our stove so I turned to a local appliance stove that carries GE products, they did sell me an element and asured me it was the correct one, but once again the element was the wrong one. Then with a simple google search for GE replacment parts I found partselect.com. With the detailed description and images with measuring grids I was able to quickly find the correct heating element for me stove. I am very pleased and the stove is back to 100%.

Range element failed to heat

Element wouldn't heat
Just pull out the current element and plug-in the new one. Part was received in 24 hours.

Old Burner was crappin' out after 20 years of service
Pulled out the old burner that was held in by a metal spring clamp. Pushed the new one in.
Good as new.

The old surface unit was not generating heat
We just remove the old surface unit and insert the new one by hand. Thanks to PartSelect, we were able to buy really good quality part that works right away! pre 1992 6" plug in electric cooking elements- rusted out
Worked, don't have to replace an old GE combination range "Microwave Cooking Center" when the surface units rusted out.
