Gas stove knob was broken
The stove is over 20 years old, it was bound to happen. Because PartSelect.com has pictures of the part from three different views & detailed measurements, I was more confident that this part would be what I would need. When the part arrived in just 2-3 days, I opened the package, and slipped it into the socket... DONE ....Easy!!

oven not up to temperature; shuts off before temp set
Took amp reading, which was 2.5 amps, that identified that the igniter needed to be replaced, for the safety valve requires 3.2 amps or better. Replaced, and everything is okay.

Old knob cracked, duh, after 20+ yrs!
Opened the package. Took out the knob. Put knob on spindle. The neat thing is it's an EXACT match! No bushings or adapters needed. No color difference; all the markings are identical. YAY!! I will be back, as all my appliances are aging sharply!

Igniter
No problem getting to igniter in oven to remove from holder. Difficult to disconnect igniter at rear after removing drawer. Just hard to get to. Broke one of the plug-in receivers so had to crimp on a new one. This was a hinged pair that received the igniter lead and another lead that went to another part.

Replacing old drip pans
Our very old GE gas stove looked good except for the drip pans. I ordered all four and they arrived the next day. The price for the pans was very reasonable, and of course, they were very easy to replace. My wife looked at the stove and said the stove looked new. I love those inexpensive jobs that result in a good looking finished project.

Oven Igniter DEAD
First wrote a wiring diagram then disconnected old igniter by removing two screws and unplugging.
Then just reversed the whole operation.
However, it never worked because the "oven/broiler" switch broke.
Its time for a new stove.
But I would recommend PartsSelect to anybody.
Your selection is great, you shipped as promised, and the best part was the price.

timer knobs missing
Just pushed the new timer knobs onto the stem. They fit and now I can set the oven timer without having to use a pair of pliers to grip the stem and turn it.

Two of the knobs fit perfectly.

The stem for the the clock was broken off and there was not enough of the stem left for the new knob to fit.

Socket set, Wrench (Adjustable)
The oven was not igniting. The heating element was not turning red hot.
First, I pulled out the two lower drawers to access the gas shut off valve. Turned it off by using adjustable wrench and turning counter-clockwise. Then I removed the old igniter - and pulled the two wires and twist caps thru the back hole. it had continuity, but it was 220 ohms. Google research said if the resistance is too high, not enough current will flow to flip the safety valve and/or heat the heating element.

Order the replacement. When I unboxed it, I measured the resistance at 176 ohms. I thought that was a bit high. Installed it anyway, and after turning on the gas at the shut off valve, I turned on the oven. I immediately heard a snap/pop - and found the heating element had broken. I called PartSelect - and they immediately sent me another one - giving me a refund for the first one to cancel out the charge, then charging me anew for the second one.

The second one measured resistance at 68 ohms. That was much better - since resistance in igniters increase with age - 68 is good compared to 220 ohms. Needless to say - re-installed, and it worked like a charm.

Tip - you can remove the oven doors. Each door hinge has a latch. Flip them up. Door lifts straight out. Made the job so much easier.
