Twice I ordered the oven light bulb & each time the light bulb was defected
I had to call for a appointment for repair with GE Appliance because I thought then it . .was something electrical. The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. It cost me $121.00 for trip charge from GE appliance for a light bulb that worked, your light bulbs were defective twice. Very disappointed with your products, cost me alot of money for a good light bulb thru GE appliance

Door switch on large oven went out.
First, I called my son over to do the repairs. He shut the power to the oven off at the breaker box, he then unplugged the oven from the wall outlet, just to be extra safe. Next, he gently pried the door switch out from the face of the oven using a small flat bladed screw driver. Once the switch was out he tied a piece of twine to the connector/plug before unplugging the switch. He then plugged the new switch in, untied the twine and carefully pushed the switch back into the hole on the face of the oven. Reconnected the pigtail to the outlet and turn the power back on at the breaker box. After watching my son do this repair I believe I could have done it and I'm 70 years old, well everything but move the oven out to unplug it from the wall outlet.

The light inside the oven had burned out
0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot.
1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back.
2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap.
3. Unscrew the old light bulb, and screw the new light bulb in its place.
4. Put the cap back.
5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.

No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.

Generic drip bowls for burners on my parent's 40" GE range don't fit because GE seems to have its own unique sizing.
I was happy to see that PartSelect offered one which specifically matched the GE part number I wanted and it also specifically said it is a GE replacement.
I received the parts and have not yet gone over to my parent's house to try and install them, but I am a bit wary.
The label on the parts I received (with the appropriate PartSelect part number) states "Fits most leading brands of electric ranges EXCEPT GE* and Hotpoint."
I have my fingers crossed that this statement is incorrect and that they actually fit!
