SWITCH CONTROL UNIT HAD BROKEN OFF FROM ONE END OF ITS INTERIOR MOUNTING
Removed and cleaned to overhead grease trap filters which required a sink full of detergent some wire wool pads and and much elbow grease. This is probably a service task that should be performed at least annually for hoods in frequent use. And be careful not to cut your fingers on some of the sharp interior edges.

With the g rease filters removed it was then possible to access the switch unit from the inside of the hood. Used a small Phillips screwdriver to loosen and remove the two fastening screws and removed and replaces the whole unit.

Refitting was the reverse of the above process.

Control panel broken
Amazing. PartSelect shipped me the wrong part and then wouldn't refund shipping cost to return it. They need to change their shipping policy as it now states they refund shipping if they were the cause of the mistake.
