After removing the cotter pin, how is the fan supposed to be removed?

Hello Larry, thank you for your question! We recommend following these instructions: 1. Remove the exhaust grill to get to the motor. 2. Remove the cotter pin for the fan blade that is attached to the motor. 3. Pull down on the fan blade to remove. 4. There are four small mounting bolts, loosen them, unplug the motor, and take it out. 5. Install new motor. We hope this information helps!

How do i test the fan to see if the fan is bad or the switch (rotates) is bad? When i turn on the fan switch (has click to off), nothing happens - no buzzing. The switch seems like it's connected to a potentiometer for fan speed and there's a small circuit board. If the switch or circuit board is bad, where do i get parts? I don't want to change out the fan if it is the switch or switch-control board.

If that does not take care of the issue, then the problem is most likely to be related to the Motor, part number FIX10432380. How to access and replace fan motor. Qt 20000
For model number QT20000
Hi Larry, thank you for contacting us. You will need to cut power or unplug the Hood before starting the repair. You will need to remove the Grease Filter to start. Once removed you will have access to the Fan Blades. Once the Blades are removed you will have access to the Wire Harness for the motor. Unplug the motor harness and remove the mounting bolts from the motor bracket. This will release the motor and you can reverse the steps to reinstall the new motor.
