Blade guard not retracting when saw moves into cutting process?I think something has come detached some how
For model number 36-225
Hi Al,
Thank you for your question. The guards on most miter saws are held in place by a bracket or spring mechanism to retract the blade. This miter saw uses a spring mechanism system. To verify what is causing the issue, you will need to remove the blade guard and the associated parts to see what is causing the issue. Saw dust and moisture can prevent the miter saw from operating normally. Once you have removed the parts, use some compressed air to remove any debris and give everything a good cleaning. Keep note of what parts need to be greased when you are reassembling the blade guard. Here is a link to one of our YouTube videos that you may reference on how to remove/install the blade guard, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOuOSkxyICo&t=2s. The miter saw in the video may appear different from yours, but it will give you a general idea on how to remove/install the part. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
