I have a fair new GE pvm9005sj3ss microwave after a storm when plugged in the surface lights keep flashing on and off and the display is off and make a click noise when the door is closed, i’ve replaced the thermal fuse and did not helped. Some one knows if just replacing the control board is going to resolve the issue? Any comments will be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Jaime,
Thank you for your question. If the display is not working and the lights are flashing, the control panel assembly will likely need to be replaced. If you are hearing a clicking sound, the sound may be coming from a defective magnetron tube. You should also check the door switches to see if they are working correctly. If they are malfunctioning, then the microwave will not work as it should. You will find information on how to test these parts under Free Repair Help and Instant Repairman on our website. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
Microwave fan and light will not shut off when door is shut. I know the auto temp will make it run and then shut off after temp reduces...this will run for days and never shut off. we have to leave the door open

Hello Kevin, thank you for contacting us. We would recommend checking the door switches, part number FIX8754454, and part number FIX8754455. If this does not help, the main board is probably defective, part number FIX11762551. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.
Hi Randy, thank you for getting in touch. The surface lights are directly controlled by the display relay control board. If the lights are staying on all the time, that means your relay is short on your display control and the board will need to be replaced. The main control board for your model is part number FIX11762551. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Open the front cover by pushing it at the top (where it says “Push”), lifting up and pushing back on top edge of the old filter. Pull it out. Installing the new one is basically just the reverse of those steps! That simple.

There are videos on YouTube on how to do this but there are a couple of things I’m going to recommend. Color code your plugs when you take the main control panel off, be patient when removing the screws on the thermal fuse use a 45 degree screwdriver but replace the screws with a small hex head self tapper screw for next time.
