What will cause a constant humming noise when the microwave is not in use and the door is closed?
It seems that when the door is closed the turntable does not move but food heats slowly.
For model number CFMV164LSA
Hi Katherine, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the issue seems to be with the magnetron, part number FIX12705729. A faulty magnetron might cause the microwave to make noises and generate heat, regardless of whether it is on or off. Checking the magnetron for continuity using a multimeter might help. Good luck with the repair!
