I start my washer, the lid locks. After a pause, there is a loud humming noise that stops with a loud click. Then nothing happens, the display panel does stay lit.

Hello Randy, thank you for your question. It sounds like the lid switch might be broken. You can test this with a multimeter. Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before you begin. Set your multimeter to the lowest ohms of resistance and test your lid switch. If it does not read any continuity, then your lid switch is indeed faulty. Part number FIX3497627. We hope this helps! If you need help placing an order, our customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
Responding to answer for loud hum and click question. I checked lid latch circuits for continuity, which i found on all wires. However i noticed that the loud hum and click was coming from the drive motor area.

Ok I just wanted to make sure I asked my question properly, washing machine does wash the clothes but near the end of the cycle it doesn’t drain and spin, occasionally it does and u never know when it won’t drain and spin. I unplug it I turn it off for hr or so still clothes sitting in water. I changed cycle to drain and spin only and u can hear a faint humming sound very faint but no movement. Eventually after several hours and trying I get it to finish cycle. Where should I start 1st. Hopefully I can fix it.

A detailed Service Technician Service Manual is hidden inside the machine on the front panel. It is hidden by the bleach dispenser input.
