The old part was broken on one side.
My son did this repair as he owns the drill now from his dad. we wanted to repair it as it was a very great drill. He told me that the repair was pretty straight forward and took maybe less than 10 minutes. The drill now works just like it did when it was new. Very happy we bought the part for repairs.
