the oven igniter would glow but the gas wouldn't turn on
After removing the oven door, floor, and gas-jet diffuser plate, I could see the valve. There was a shield ov er the elec connections, which I removed. I turned off the gas line to the oven and elec power from the wall, then disconnected the valve. The orig valve had a mounting bracket which I swapped to the new valve( the holes lined up

perfectly). I bolted everything back in place, turned it on, and the oven fired right up. I was afraid an appliance this old (1984) would no longer have any parts-availability. but PartSelect came through!

Rubber gasket failed due to age
I learned that I could clean the window in the oven door. In taking it apart I saw that the gasket had fallen into the oven door. I found the part online, it arrived in three days. I removed the metal part of the door, removed what was left of the old gasket and put in the new one. Put the metal part of the door back on, and it was as g

spring broke on one side of door hinge
Pulled the stove out, removed the sides and attatched the new springs( replaced both while the stove was out). Worked like new and put the stove back.
