My self-propelled lawnmower did not function. The front wheel assist did not work.
I removed one of the wheels and noticed that the gear teeth were worn off. I then checked the other wheel and it was the same. I ordered two replacement wheels and replaced the worn wheels with the new wheels. It took less than 15 minutes to remove the old wheels and replace with the new wheels. Front drive wheel locked up, causing the mower to not be able to be pushed.
Removed wheel by pressing off the plastic hub cap exposing the nut holding the wheel. I removed the nut, then pulled the wheel straight off the axel shaft. This exposed the broken dust cover. I they wiggled the dust cover off, cleaned the dirt from inside the wheel, placed the new dust cover, replaced the wheel, nut and hub cap.
