The water pump broke (too old).
I removed the three nuts that hold the old pump, easy. Next step was to replace with the new pump, tricky, because it goes real deep in the machine and my arms barely reach it.
After several attemtps, I finally reached one screw and bolt it immediately. Rest was piece of cake.
What I liked most, is that you don't need to do any wiring connections, because it uses a simple plug-in connector that goes in at the same time when you bolt the new pump.
What it surprised me, was that my machine it's over 20 years old, and the new replacement water pump it's the very same design !!!
Last night I fixed it, and today I'm enjoying again fresh ice.
One plus for PartSelect : I inherit this machine and didn't have an Installation & Operation Manual, and PartSelect have it On-Line, so I printed it, and I believe I'm ready another 20 year period of fresh ice!
Thanks a lot PartSelect !!!

Quit making ice
This is a stand alone ice maker that uses a standard water valve. When the valve fails (usually stuck open) the water never chills enough to freeze because water is constantly flowing into the hopper. The valve is in the very front. Remove the front panel. Turn of the water supply and disconnect the valve. Replace the valve and turn on the water. Let the machine run through 1 cycle before the new valve will dispense water. Done.

Water began to leak under the refrigerator. Source looked like it was coming from control valve suppling water to ice maker and water dispenser.
Followed instructions supplied. It was relatively easy and the parts fit exactly right. Sears wanted twice as much for the part and service would have charged me another $100 to come to my home. I saved over $100 doing the project myself.

35 year old water tube became brittle and cracked; leaking water
Unscrewed clamp holding water tube to refrigerator ice maker. Pulled water tube from ice maker and water valve inlet. Cut the new tubing to the exact same length and inserted one end to the water valve inlet and the other end to the ice maker then screwed clamp holding water tube back to the refrigerator ice maker.

water leaked when the paddel was pushed
Followed the video on parts page. I was worried I would brake the cover but learned from the video the right way to remove the front plate. I found the video very informing. Thank you for saving me a service call and the part cost was minimal compared to a new refrigerator .

Ice machine grid cutter had failed. All necessary was to pull old one and replace with new one. Hardest part was to remove the cover face plate on the front of grid cutter. The rest was a piece of cake. Now my ice machine works perfect and produces a ton of ice quickly and nicely.
I removed the two wing nut type screws and pulled grid cutter out and then disconnected both the electrical power plug and the light power plug. Then I removed the front face plate and put it on the new grid cutter after cleaning and re-inserted the new grid cutter into ice machine along with re-connecting the electrical and tighten wing screws and then turned the ice machine to on and within approx. 2-3 hours, we had ice. Very simple to do and machine works perfect now. Just like new.

Icemaker would not make ice. Diagnosed problem as being the cutter which was not cutting the ice thereby causing the machine to cycle draining the water receptacle.
Removed two thumb screws holding old cutter in place, Replaced old cutter with replacement part the same way I removed the old cutter. Problem solved.

Ice wouldn't melt into the small squares
At the top of the unit is the grid-cutter, to remove, I unscrewed the two turn screws (usually can do by hand but mine were a little tight so I used pliers to turn them). I slid the unit out and disconnected the power supply and light switch. I removed the plastic cover on the front and put it on the new grid cutter, lining up the light between the plastic and the edge of the grid. Slid the cover back on and then slide the grid cutter back into place. Hand turning the two screws and it was making ice in no time.
I saved more than $200 doing it myself!!!

Broken Water Nozzle at Door
(1) Ordered PS371704 from PartSelect! Best advice EVER! (2) Unplugged refrigerator (since the water solenoid on the back of the refrigerator is powered to switch ON the water, you NEVER have to turn off the water!) (3) Pull off the refrigerator's bottom grill. (4) With a small saucer under the fittings, unscrew the black and white tube fitting. There is only one nut to remove on the white tubing side. You'll need to undo the compression fitting on the black tubing and slide off the compression nut. You'll need to MAKE SURE you keep these nuts and replace onto the black and white tubing the SAME WAY you took them off. You'll NOT need to use nut drivers as finger tight is the key. Too hard and you'll ruin these plastic nuts. You should get only about 1/8 cup or less of water during this whole exercise. (5) Cut off the old, broken water nozzle. (4) Find a screw of the appropriate size to fit tightly 1/2 way inside the new tubing (this is to ensure your old and new tubing are connected to feed through the door). If screw is not tight within the tubing, wrap part of a plastic (thin) sack around this screw a couple of times and force into the tubing. You'll, of course, then need to use the hacksaw to cut the head off the screw as you'll be forcing the other half of the screw into the old cut tubing (6) Chase the dog out of the kitchen and cajole your wife (significant other) to push the newly joined tubes through the top of the dispenser, through the door and out the bottom as you will be gently PULLING on this old tubing from the bottom until the new tubing pops through the doors bottom. (7) Once this new tubing is out, you will separate the old tubing and, using the nuts in the proper sequence, connect this new tubing to the white tubing. (8) Plug the refrigerator back in and test flow the water. Check to ensure the plastic nuts have no leakage ... button up the bottom grill ... and enjoy the fresh water! PS> Don't forget to praise the wife (significant other) and give the dog a treat for staying out of your face!!

Pump and water solenoid not working-replacedl
Reached in from from of machine to repace the pump amd took bottom front panel off to change the solenoid. Had ordered the pump some time ago because it was noisy. This icemaker was purchased in 1978 and I have maintained it over time with ordered parts. It stll works great and is valued by the family for the beautiful ice free of refrigerator odors.

Solenoid in Water Valve failed open
Determined coil was open when fill valve did not allow water to enter the icemaker tank. Checked coil with Ohmmeter, found open, and ordered part. Part came in in quick order and allowed me to replace fill valve and have machine making ice within 4 business days. Nothing like clear ice maker for making really good ice.

Replaced with new part. Issue this the third time in about 3 years and I do not know why the part life is so short. Replacement is 5 minutes as the valve is just behind the from panel.
