its best to use power screw driver lot of screws .took out all screws took off door took out side to remove ice from door. just used water to melt ice. took off old gasket and put on new gasket. put door in place and started screws in four coners do not tighten screws at this point.put in rest of screws. work arondclock wise making sure gasket is seated while tighing screws. check gasket for flatness you may have to use hair dryer on gasket to make it flat.

Simply unscrew panel but do not remove it. Remove old gasket. Fit new gasket between panel and door. Fasten screws and no more leaks and better temperature contol. This was so easy and rejuvenated my freezer. Thank you for quick shipment, great service, easy to navigate website, and fast phone help. Bought a new
capacitor.

This was a simple job. Raised the flap in the back that houses the compressor, removed the wire that holds the relay, pulled out the old relay and pushed the new one on. Replaced wire holder and that was it. Plugged it frig and freezer is at zero and lower compartment at 35. As easy as brushing your teeth!

I located the part that was the culprit as it had buzzed very much before quitting. This is an easy removal as the part is in a two prong jack and just needs to be carefully removed with the new part inserted back in the jack provided. The refrigerator works fine now, but the run capacitor will still buzz on start up of the compressor. I do hope this is normal in this model? anyway it runs fine mow. Thank you.

The site offers a video for this part which worked perfectly. In addition to replacing the part, since the cardboard panel was off, we also cleaned all the dust off of the coils which someone recommended to do annually.

removed door and took all the screws out of the inside door rack. removed old door seal . replaced door seal and made sure that the seal fit around and door rack fit into the groove then replaced all screws and tightened choosing random sections to tighten .replaced the door plugged back in wires that I removed and replaced door hinge screws . Shut door and checked sealing 2 hours later .Complete seal .

Remove the cardboard access cover at the bottom back of the fridge. On the left side, locate the run capacitor. Remove it by prying it loose from its socket, after first removing the wire hold down clamp. One wonders why the clamp is there, which makes it difficult to get the run capacitor out. Be careful not to disrupt in any way the copper refrigerant tubes. If you mess them up, you will have wasted your time and effort trying to repair the machine. I was lucky, since a failed run capacitor is the problem only about 12% of the time, based on what I’ve read. Hallelujah! It was the problem with my fridge.

Opened mailer and bag and place the drain plug into the drain. fit perfectly. In fact it is better than the one lost since the original needed a screwdriver or tool to remove the plug. This one has a flang or finger turner on it so that it can be removed. Also, does not interfere with items in bottom of freezer.

removed the main screw to expose the cold control, checked for power at the 2 power terminals. no power. ordered new control and resolved the problem. easiest repair I have ever done.

Removed old gasket, then installed new gasket. Make sure to allow new gasket to set out for a few days prior to installing to get all wrinkles out, use a heat gun after installing to make gasket shape to freezer door.

Ordered the Capacitor and the Thermostat Control. Parts were received in a matter of a few days, easy to install, but did not fix the problem. Had to call a repairman to fix the problem (compressor relay - this part not available to order for this model number with Parts Select). Will continue to use Parts Select in the future for other parts, but not happy that the actual part I needed was not available - had to use other methods.

On 08/13 / 2025 starting in the AM --- My Wife Marie Defrosted -- Cleaned and dried the Kenmore up right freezer she has had for more than 33 years --- She noticed there was screws behind the inside door gasket and informed yours truly --- 1st Jacques loosened all the screws then removed the old gasket -- took it cleaned it and boxed it in the box the new gasket came in --- Took new freezer door gasket and installed it neatly around the door by tucking back part of door gasket between door panel and door --- once all was in place started tightening all screws starting at bottom holding bottom gasket material tight with other hand --- then working counter clock wise till done !!! there you go it was very easy and turned out great !!! Loosen screws, removed old gasket seal, replace with new gasket (nice to use 2 sets of hands) and re screwed. Used hairdryer to heat up and fluff out a spot that wasnt seal all the way. Pretty simplementation to do.

Unscrew all the fasteners from the door inner cover from the bottom to top to hold it in position, got rid of the old gasket.

I Cleaned all and install the new gastket into the door inner cover. then reintalled cover to the starting from the top to bottom to hold it in place.

this is a one man job but with two will be easer
