Food Processor shaft sleeve crackeda
Removed the broken shaft by beaking it. Cleaned the metal shaft and coated it with light lubricant. Drove the new shaft on with a rubber mallet.

Would have been helpful to know if there is an easier way to remove the sleeve other than breaking it apart. In this case the sleeve was in bad shape and there was no problem with the new one. However, had I been able to keep the damaged one as a back up it might prove helpful

the motor shaft sleeve cracked
First I chiseled the cracked and damaged sleeve with a flat head screwdriver until it was off of the steel shaft. Then I put some lubricant on the steel and hammered the new part on with the mallet. It was so easy! I had this broken Cuisinart food processor in my pantry for months, I thought I would have to get a new one. I stumbled upon this website looking for something else and found the replacement part, it saved me hundreds. Thanks PartSelect!

cracked motor shaft sleeve
remove as much plastic as possible with pliers. Slit the sleeve with the dremmel tool, using a small diamond bit, on bith sides as far down as possible. Spread the two halves a little to break their grip on the shaft, using pliers. Remembering that the sleeve extends below the flange at the base, you will need to pry the rest up. I used two blocks of 3/4 inch thick wood and two short crow bars inserted either side of the sleeve. After removing the old sleeve, lubricate the motor shaft with food grade silicon O ring lube, and taking care to align the flat surface of the shaft with the inner flat areas of the sleeve, drive it home with a plastic or rubber mallett.
