Heating element replacement
Don't pay a repair service for this job when you can do it yourself. Pop the two panels off the back of the machine. The top one is where you'll unhook the old heating element. The bottom one (where the exhaust is) is where you'll need to unhook the broken heating element from it's connector. Place the new heating element's wires down through the back of the machine, plug the wires in (note - this is a 3-prong plug and it should only fit one way - the correct way) to the connector, and re-assemble.

Note: make sure that the exhaust pipe is secured back in its base. Getting the bottom panel back on is a little tricky, but you'll get in after a couple tries!

dryer making squeeking noise
replaced plastic bushing at rear of unit. all you have to do is have acess to the rear of the dryer, no need to open dryer from front or top. squeeking noise stop but wonder how long the plastic part will last!!!! can not beleive that maytag installed such a low quality bushing. no appliance servicemen want to repair unit when noise first occurred. i replaced the $10 part with help moving the stacked unit down from washer. saved $150 service call.

My dryer was working, but it was no heat.
I tried to find this thermostat from shops in the town I live, but I could not. So I ordered it from Partselect. The website is very easy to find this kind of thermostat. I can compare my burned thermostat with the picture in the website. Also it send to me on time. I just plug it in the socket behind the dryer. I took only few minutes to repair.

Dryer would not heat.
After bering told by a repair technician that the Assembly PCB needed to be replaced, I ordered that part. The ordering and installation was very simple. I just removed a few screws and put in the new PCB. However, the dryer still does not heat up and I just replaced the heating element about one to two months ago.

Dryer works, no heat!
The heating element is located in the back top right corner, remove 2 screws that holds heating element in place. Remove bottom panel also to disconnect heating element from dryer. Be careful when removing cord, there are two plastic holders also, out of sight, press to release. Remove old element, connect new element. It is best to purchase part #24, and #25 which is the thermostats. Both was burn out when my heating element went. To replace thermostats, remove top cover, remove two screws in the back,on top, lift cover off.
