For activating the diagnostic mode, you basically pick any 3 keys other than Start or Cancel, and push them in a 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3 pattern, with no more than 1 second between key presses. If done successfully, all the lights should blink, and if you then shut the door it should begin a diagnostic cycle. Also, as per Whirlpool, You can test your dishwasher heating element by running a Sanitize wash cycle. If the Sanitize light on the control panel is blinking or doesn’t light up, there may be a problem with the heating element . We hope this helps.
