The compressor would not run.
I removed the cover, used a multimeter to test the compressor circuit, and found the compressor start relay to be defective.
Ordered a new one and installed it when it arrived.

This dehumidifier is the best we have ever had but the water reservoir container split and the float broke off.
Never dreaming I could find a replacement, I went searching on the internet anyway and found the model which had been discontinued however the container and float were still available. It took two minutes to put the new float in and the reservoir container on the unit. It works great!!!

Compressor was short cycling
Removed the cowling with a square drive screw driver, removed the spring clip from the cover of the compressor controls with a screw driver, pulled off the old compressor start relay and replaced it with the new part. Since other problems could have caused the compressor to short cycle this was a "replace the part and hope it would work" since that would be the most common reason and it was not a very expensive part.

Unit would run continuously and not shut off
Removed the front cover and then the humidistat from the bracket. Two push on wire connectors and then reversed. Very straightforward and excellent part matching. Given the prices for new dehumidifiers it was great to breathe life back into this unit which does its job well. Thanks for the easy to use web site and fast fast service!

Freezer would not run ... replace the compressor start relay which fixed the problem
Pulled out the freezer. Unplugged. No freezer back cover was there. The compressor start relay was in a plastic encasement attached to the compressor - wires led me to it. Removed the solid metal spring with a screwdriver and removed the plastic cover. Tried to pull out the defective relay but the freezer was so old I needed a pliers to remove it. When I put pressure on the old relay with the pliers the relay broke and came off in pieces. I then removed the wires from the broken parts and put them on the new relay. I pushed the new relay onto the 2 pins then replaced the cover and spring. After plugging the freezer in the problem was fixed.

The float turned up missing during a move to another city.
The repair was just putting the float into the inside of the tank itself and then, inserting the two pins (left and right) into each slot so the float operates up and down freely.

We lost the water float. Needed a replacement
The float has two prongs that fit two snap fasteners on the reservoir tank. I just pressed the float prongs into the snap fasterners and inserted the reservoir tank into the dehumidifier. Turned the switch and pressto! We are in business.

Freezer was not freezing.
I removed the compressor start relay and replaced it with the new part. Initially it did not work. When I checked my work, I had to tighten the connector on the new part. Once I made the correction, the freezer is freezing normally again.

Dehumidifier would not shut off
First I pulled the top/side cover off. Disconnected the terminals from the old unit, unscrewed the old unit, and put the terminals on the new unit. Then I put the side/top cover back on, screwed the new humidistat unit into the front cover and then popped and screwed the front cover back in place. Customer service was excellent and order was received promptly as promised. Highly recommend Parts Select!

Dehumidfier wouldn't turn off.
First I removed the two control knobs and the two screws that hold the front cover in place and then the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Then I reconnected the new humidistat and put everything back together. Works just fine, now.
