So for my impact screwdriver (part # 2401-20) when i pull the trigger and that happens is the led light turns on along with the side light for battery life. The motor doesn’t work. I was wondering if there’s any ways to check and be sure it’s the motor or if it could be something else, a basic rundown for troubleshooting.
For model number 2401-20
Hello Colton, Thank you for your inquiry. To test the motor, you can bypass the switch. To do so, you need to grab a couple of leads and hook them to the battery. It should be a DC motor so it doesn't matter if you get positive or negative reversed, it will run the same. Hook one lead to to the lead on the motor, and if it runs, then it could be the switch, if it doesn't, then the motor is faulty. Good luck with your repair.
