The light goes on when you pull trigger but I have no power. The battery is new.

Hello Dennis, thank you for writing in. First thing we can check is the battery itself. I know you said the battery is new but you never know until you test. With a multimeter, check the output voltage on the battery itself, it should be about 12 volts DC when fully charged. You can also check that the battery charger is not faulty.
