I broke the original knob when I dropped a picture on it.
I carefully removed the knob from the paper package and gently placed it between my left hand thumb and index finger all the while watching for falling objects that might cause harm to the new knob.
After determining there were no threatening objects anxiously awaiting any misplacement of the knob that I desired to place on the stem from the control area of the stove I quickly placed the knob over the stem and pushed with very little pressure unless it was safely installed.
After the installation I quickly went to the sofa and rested from the extreme labor that I performed from the difficult procedure.

Gas stove won’t light on half the appliance
First we replaced the wiring harness because a multi-meter said it wasn’t getting power. That was only partially true. The wiring harness was burned looking so we just kept it instead of sending it back. When the spark module got here the burner caps were removed and then the wires were noted where they went on the module and then the power and gas were turned off. The spark module was removed and then the stove was tested and we were back in business.
