One burner was not igniting .. no clicking sound .. no spark.
On this range, the switch at any one burner causes the igniters to spark on all four burners. However, there was no spark anywhere when I turned the knob for the front right burner. This indicated a fault in the switch on that knob. Very important to start by unpluging the power cord (I got zapped trying to skip that part!) Then remove all four burners, by turning them counterclockwise and lifting. Remove all igniter wires and set the burners aside. At the edge of each of the burner holes is a screw. Remove all four of these screws, then you can pry the cooktop up and remove it. Pull all four knobs off, and remove the four screws attaching the cover behind the knobs (two on top and two below (above oven door). This exposes the igniter switches. Slide the broken switch off the shaft, and remove the wires. (There is a small release tab at each pole of the switch. Depress it with a small screw driver and the wires can be pulled out.) Push the wires into the new switch, slide it into place, and put everything back together. Solved my problem!

burner head was rusted out. ordered 1 to see if part was correct. ordered 4 more to finish job.
unscrewed old burner head ;disconnected 2 wires; repaced with new burner head and replaced wires. Unfortunately, before we really needed to replace the other burner heads, the cooktop itself developed a gas leak. We decided to replace the whole thing, and therefore would like to return the unboxed, unused 4 remaining burner heads.

Gas was escaping from underneath the burner head
The old burner head had corroded allowing gas to come out at the bottom. The actual replacement is just turning the head, lifting it out, transferring two wires with slip-on connectors from the old burner to the new one, and dropping the new one in place. Most of the time was spent sanding away corroded metal on the base to make a good fit. The information on the burner head says that the company has decided not to use a gasket under the head. I suggest that was a bad decision.

Broken burner - easy fix
The burner was leaking a rust colored dirt and shooting flames all over the place. The top came off and I needed channel-locks to get the bottom half out. The wires were hard to get off and I broke one connector off so I soldered the wire on to the new part which fit the stove top perfectly. It still took less than a half hour to replace. Without problems it should take about 5 minutes.

Burner Head Rusted Out
Slightly turn burner head clockwise and it comes out. Pulled out spark electrode wire and hand installed it into new piece. Cleaned area and replaced burner head with a slight twist to lock in place. Bought two and have spare one left. Other three burners are ok but slightly rusted. We are ready for the next one to show a leak. May just replace the one that seems more worn out. Great solution. Saved a bundle on repairs and delayed having to buy new stove. This one has worked perfectly for over ten years.

Old Burner Head Caps No Longer Work And Need To Be Replaced
The burner head caps on my Magic Chef no longer work and had to be replaced. I ordered 1 of the 4 caps to see how it would work out for me. I did not have any issues replace the cap. I contacted PartSelect and order the other 3 caps. The sales representative took my order and was EXTREMELY helpful. Now I know why all of my neighbors choose PartSelect. Including the cleaning, it did not take me more than 15 minutes. The video was also extremely helpful. Our Magic Chef should be good for another 6-8 years. Thanks PartSelect.
