Does the diode assembly need change if the saw light come on but the saw will not run. I installed a new charged battery, but no power to the blade . Is there a different problem like the switch or something else related to the switch
For model number 2631-20

Hi Vincent, thank you for reaching out. You do not need to change the diode assembly. We would suggest checking the trigger switch, part number FIX10123797. Over time, the high current required to start a circular saw causes arcing across the internal switch copper plates. This leaves carbon deposits that completely block electricity from reaching the motor. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
