There is a small black plastic clip that retains a spring and slips over a brass looking rod that controls the upper valve. It is on the upper right side of the air filter in back of the cover and above the throttle cable assembly. Don’t know what to call it! But I really need a replacement for it.

Worn out oil pump/burning chains
After checking several different videos, ordered the repair parts and two specialty tools( Clutch removal/install and a worm drive remover/installer) Total for parts and tools around 45.00. Much cheaper than the shop wanted, 85.00 to look at it plus parts. As for results I've used the chainsaw all afternoon no problem. Runs like it did 12 yrs ago. Pumps oil the would make Jed Clampet proud

My neighbor brought the saw to me. It was locked up
He didn't want to spend alot of money on it. So I got the jug (Head) off and sanded it and the piston down while I waited on the new piston ring to get here. I found that it was easier putting the new ring in and the piston back into the jug (Head) was to go ahead and take the piston out so you could turn the jug (Head) upside down and it slid right in. It didn't take no time at all. And it now runs as good as new
