unit stopped running
since the unit had not been responding to the remote, it was reasonable to replace the control panel. eventually the unit popped the breaker and stopped running altogether. I replaced the t fuse on the power board since it was blown. since i had the power box open, I decided to replace the fan capacitor (power caps don't last forever any way) since the fan made a funny noise before the unit blew. my ohm meter told me that the fan was not shorted or grounded or open and it sun smoothly. the ionizer read a dead short (zero ohms) so i unplugged it from the power board. Reassembled without the ionizer and hail Mary away she goes, everything cycled several times with no problems. oh and the remote works now. the remote was tested by pressing buttons and viewing the led through a phone camera (you can then see if the led is emitting).
