Derek Olson

Derek Olson is the owner of The Oldwolf Workshop Studio. Derek is a husband, father, maker, and writer living in La Crosse, Wisconsin. From a young age, he’s had a deep fascination with history that’s lead to his use of traditional tools and techniques in creating award-winning, bespoke furniture.

He has written articles for Popular Woodworking and has demonstrated traditional carving and furniture-building techniques at several museums and events throughout the Midwest. He records all his successes and failures on his blog, and is currently writing a book on building Medieval period furniture.
