This is a genuine OEM replacement clutch assembly for your washing machine. A clutch assembly, also known as a clutch or a washer clutch, is responsible for spinning the tub during the spin cycle. If the clutch becomes worn and is no longer operating properly, your clothes will remain soaked after the cycle is finished. Some other signs it is time to replace the clutch is if your washer is noisy while running, there is a burning smell, or the machine is shaking excessively. This kit comes with the clutch, brake cam driver, spring, retaining ring, and a nylon anti-rattle clip. Before beginning this repair, be sure to disconnect the power and water supply to your machine. Depending on your washer model, you may need an additional person to help lower the machine onto its back, as access to the drive shaft to change the clutch assembly may be easiest through the bottom of the appliance.

My washer will not spin on “super plus”, but spins on most other settings. Would this part fix the problem?

Hi Steve, thank you for reaching out. Before replacing the clutch assembly, we would suggest checking that the load is properly balanced. If the issue persists, you may need to replace the washer timer, part number FIX11746384. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer, such as water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences. We hope that helps!
My washing machine does not engaged the spin cycle after the rinse cycle. After the rinse cycle, It makes a humming noise until the end of spin cycle. My clothes are wet at the end of the spin cycle.

After the rinse cycle, my washing machine does not spin. It only makes a humming sound through the spin cycle. If I wait 15 minutes, I can turn the knob to spin cycle and pull it to out to start the spin cycle. The clutch assembly has been replaced and still has the same issue. What part needs to be replaced?

... Read moreth the clutch out, you're staring right at the brake assembly. They're removed easily enough but are kind of pain to install without the right tool. I struggled for over an hour trying to get the second shoe mounted with the spring loaded between them. I ended up compressing the spring with channel lock pliars while putting a large center punch through the mounting hole in the shoe and into the indentation in the center of the mounting post. Pressing in hard and using it as a lever, I was able to pull the shoe over and onto the post. An installation tool could be easily made from a 6" piece of 1/4" or 3/8" rod, bent 90 degrees, with a point coming off one side of one of the ends. With the point inserted into the mounting post's indentation, like the center punch, the rod would only have to be rotated in order to bring the brake shoe into alignment with the post. I feel confident I could do a repeat repair in less than 2 hours even without an installation tool.
Followed instructions provided in video. All went well. The hardest part was getting the washer "shell" back on its frame. Fortunately I had all the right words in my swearing toolkit! THANK YOU for this resource (thumbs up)

... Read more/2", very easy to remove with vice grips. Using a little liquid wrench the bolt was easily removed. The local hardware was out of fine thread 5/16" bolts so it took some looking to find one. Other than that, it was just as easy as the UTube video.
