This is a genuine OEM replacement clutch assembly for your washing machine. A clutch assembly, also known as a clutch or a washer clutch, is responsible for spinning the tub during the spin cycle. If the clutch becomes worn and is no longer operating properly, your clothes will remain soaked after the cycle is finished. Some other signs it is time to replace the clutch is if your washer is noisy while running, there is a burning smell, or the machine is shaking excessively. This kit comes with the clutch, brake cam driver, spring, retaining ring, and a nylon anti-rattle clip. Before beginning this repair, be sure to disconnect the power and water supply to your machine. Depending on your washer model, you may need an additional person to help lower the machine onto its back, as access to the drive shaft to change the clutch assembly may be easiest through the bottom of the appliance.

My washer will not spin on “super plus”, but spins on most other settings. Would this part fix the problem?

Hi Steve, thank you for reaching out. Before replacing the clutch assembly, we would suggest checking that the load is properly balanced. If the issue persists, you may need to replace the washer timer, part number FIX11746384. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer, such as water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences. We hope that helps!

Would not spin but did pump water
Repair time of the problem was easier than moving the washer out of a very tight laundry area. The repair was much easier than I anticipated. The parts fit perfectly , And it was successful.

The drum would not spin
I decided to attempt to replace both the clutch and the drive coupling. I had to take apart the couple to do the clutch anyway. Unfortunately I was unable to remove the couple plastic/fiberglass pieces so I only replaced the rubber coupler. The transmission; however, was covered in clutch dust. I put the new one in, put it back together a nd notice my clear plastic drum was disgusting, so I tore it apart somewhat to clean it. Then put it all back together and it works like a champ. Awesome videos for instruction. Next time something fails I am shopping here first.

The washing machine would not operate in the spin cycle, leaving the clothes soaking wet.
The first repair I did was to replace the direct coupling.Although the coupling was worn, it did not fix the problem. So the next repair I did was to replace the clutch. i watched the video on the repair and decided to not remove the cabinet. I removed the hoses and unplugged the washer. I laid the washer on its side and removed the 2 cli ps holding the water pump. I pushed the water pump aside, and removed the 3 bolts holding the transmission. The motor and transmission can now be removed as a unit.I followed the video instructions and replaced the clutch.The repair worked and the washer now spins the water out of the clothes. I am very pleased with the videos and quality parts and fast shipping from this site.

The machine would jerk violently
with a very loud clank, every time the spin cycle stopped. From what I read, it was probably the brakes but decided to do the clutch while I was there. I found web site and watched their great video on clutch replacement. I've never worked on a washing machine before but doing the clutch alone would have been what I call a "easy" job. Wi th the clutch out, you're staring right at the brake assembly. They're removed easily enough but are kind of pain to install without the right tool. I struggled for over an hour trying to get the second shoe mounted with the spring loaded between them. I ended up compressing the spring with channel lock pliars while putting a large center punch through the mounting hole in the shoe and into the indentation in the center of the mounting post. Pressing in hard and using it as a lever, I was able to pull the shoe over and onto the post. An installation tool could be easily made from a 6" piece of 1/4" or 3/8" rod, bent 90 degrees, with a point coming off one side of one of the ends. With the point inserted into the mounting post's indentation, like the center punch, the rod would only have to be rotated in order to bring the brake shoe into alignment with the post. I feel confident I could do a repeat repair in less than 2 hours even without an installation tool.

my washer failed to spin adequately

Slow tub spin cycle with clothes still dripping wet.
The video and other posts on this repair were GREAT! I did not remove the housing just drained the lines and laid it on its back and did the rest as described in the posts and in the video, just could not see quite as much when removing the staps from the pump and motor. Went very well about 45 min. from disconnecting the hoses and remov ing the washer from the closet, to doing the repair and back in the closet hooked up and ready to go. Have a couple old rags on hand to wipe things and your hands, mine was not as clean as the washer in the video.

Very slow spin. Clutch was worn out.
I followed the UTube repair to the T except the first step was not simple. The bolt head inside the agitator was completely corroded. I drilled the head off removing chips with a magnet until the hole was deep enough to break the head off with a pin punch. After removing the transmission, I was gratified that the bolt protruded about 1 /2", very easy to remove with vice grips. Using a little liquid wrench the bolt was easily removed. The local hardware was out of fine thread 5/16" bolts so it took some looking to find one. Other than that, it was just as easy as the UTube video.
