the washer would quit in between cycles.open and drop the lid and it would go again
There are two screws one on the left and one on the right of the control panel , remove them and flip the panel up. That exposes two clamps one on the right and one on the left, take a screw driver and pry the clamps up and remove them. The complete cabinet will pull forward and you can get to the lid switch.When I ordered the part from part select it only took a day to get it. Great service.

Lid Switch Replacement
Note: This is a Sears Kenmore model made by Whirlpool. The instructions which came with the replacement lid switch DID NOT say how to access the switch. I found this information in a YouTube Video -
