Product Description

If your laundry is coming out of the washer with marks or tears, your washer is leaking, or there is a burning smell, there may be an issue with your door bellow. This genuine OEM part is also called a boot seal and provides a watertight seal around the door of your front load washing machine. If the door boot seal gets damaged or torn, it can cause leaking to happen and should be replaced. A common reason that the bellow gets torn is overloading the machine. There are two clamps that hold the bellow in place, if they are in good shape they can be reused with the new bellow. If the clamps are damaged, they should be replaced and can be purchased separately.

Washer was leaking heavily from the bottom
I ordered the part I needed, and watched Steve's instructional video on YouTube. It seemed fairly easy. I unplugged the machine, raised the front onto wooden blocks, and then undid the lower panel with the quarter inch nut driver. I then undid the control panel with the #20 torx driver as well as a phillips screwdriver for the screw locat ed at the top of the inside door. It was easy to remove the spring ring from the outside of the bellows, and removing the door panel and lock mechanism was a cinch, even with the weight of the door. Once that was off, I used the phillips to loosen the inner retaining ring and remove the bellows, which I now saw had a large tear running almost three-quarters of the way around it. I had a bit of trouble with the new bellows, thinking at first that it was too big, but after comparing it with the old one, I knew I had the right part. It took a bit of doing, but with patience, I got it in firmly in place and the ring tightened back around it. I then replaced the door panel and the lock mechanism, and got the outer spring ring attached before I realized that I had disconnected the soap tube but not reattached it, so I had to undo it step by step and put the pipe in place. But having learned my lesson, I was able to get everything back in place with greater ease, and now my machine is working perfectly.

Holds in Bellow
I watched Steve, from the video, a couple of times then tried it myself. It was just as easy as it looked. I brought my laptop with me and proceed frame by frame. I have 3 suggestions: #1....when fitting the new Bellow in the grove, I stuck my head in the washer and used it to apply pressure to the top of the Bellow so it wouldn't pop out . having my head in the washer, with my flash light, made it easier to see that it was going in the grove properly. #2 I needed my husband to help me with the spring clamp. I held it in place while he pulled it over the edge. (it kept slipping and pulling the bellow off on the opposite side) # 3 when it is all done, clean out the drain filter on the bottom of the washer....(the PVC pipe) I put an aluminum pan under the drain to catch the water. Mine was very, very clogged with thing that had passed thru the holes in the Bellow.... coins, safety pin, paper clip, etc... If I can do it, you can too! chris
