Washer would not do anything. Stopped in the middle of a load of wash.I noticed a few times that I had to open and reclose the lid to get it to start, so I thought it was the lip switch.
Looked at other peoples instructions and did the same, but I had 5 screws not 2. 3 needed wrenches and 2 needed a screw driver. I'm a 67 year old woman I I did it . It was easy!

Filled with water and that was all. Nothing worked. Pushed on lid and put weight on it and it would work, until the new lid switch came in.
open lid and remove one clip on each side under timer compartment . needed channel lock pliers because they were hard to remove. keep lid open and un clip the old lid switch and also remove ground wire. replace new switch. before closing compartment make sure washer is working. also remember to un plug washer before starting work. I put the clips holding the compartment in place and then shut the compartment. this was easier than trying to move the washer drum and trying to replace them from under the lid .

Lid switch had overheated and was fused to wiring harness
REmoved lid switch fist and replaced it. Then replaced the wiring harness one plug at a time following the original exactly . Too bad we could not find any instructions for replacing the wiring harness.Do not remove the entire wiring harness and then try to replace it---you'll be sorry.

Water would fill but washer would not start
Unplugged the washer , removed 2 Phillips head screws behind the control panel at the corners. Next I removed 2 5/16" head screws for the console straps. Next I removed the screw for the switch ground strap. Next lift the lid about 3 inches and the part slips right out. Installation in reverse order. Took longer to type out these directions than it did to do the job.

Washer would not agitate or spin
For the lid switch I took the back screws of the panel, moved it forward a little & lifted it up. Needed a 5/16 socket to take the small bolt off. Had to lift the lid in order for the switch to come off. On the agitator with the lid open, removed the dispenser, then the screen, needed a 7/16 socket to remove the bolt. Pulled out the agitator & installed the new cogs. Easy job but the most important thing is to unplug the washer first.

Washer not draining or spinning.
Washer had been acting up. Didnt want to run spin cycle and would randomly start working again. Finally it stopped completely (with full load in of course). I suspected the lid switch. I used multimeter to confirm it had failed. The new lid switch was a 1 minute install. Just remember to keep the lid up when installing. I did a quick spin cycle test to confrim it was working before reassembly. It was good to go.
