drain hose had sprung a leak
Simply unscrewed the hose clip, swapped out the damaged hose and then screwed the hose clip back in place. Easy fix and the part came in 2 days. Much better than the $150 estimate that I was given by an appliance repair man.

Water leaking from hose extension
Unplugged the electric cord. Turned off the water to the 2 hoses. Pulled washer away from the wall about 2 feet so could get close to it and yet not too far so the extension hose could reach to the water outlet pipe. Placed a towel on floor under the washer. Used screwdriver to unscrew the 2 screws that connected the hose clip to the w

asher. Slowly pulled on the extension to take it out of the washer. There was more water than I expected so make sure your towel is well placed and large enough. Before doing that I took a picture of the existing hose clip so I knew its proper direction since its not a uniform shape. Placed the hose clip on the new extension. Dried out the inside of the washer hole which removed some dirt. Inserted new extension into hole and screwed it back on. Took the other end of the extension and placed it into drainage pipe. Held extension in pipe and drilled small hole into it. Then secured the extension and the pipe with a screw. Turned everything back on and did a very small rinse cycle to be sure that nothing was leaking anywhere. Wall-ah it worked!
