Product Description

This timer knob or control knob assembly is designed for a washing machine, and comes with a retaining clip. It attaches to your timer dial and allows you to turn the timer. The main reason you would need to replace the timer knob, is if the teeth on the inside of it are worn, and will not allow you to adjust the timer. This part is sold separately from the timer dial. To complete this repair, you will need a pair of needle nose pliers to disconnect the old retaining clip.

Washer overfilled on some cycles. Wouldn't spin on some cycles.
I watched the videos. Wasn't sure if I needed dual water inlet valve or water level pressure switch, so I installed both. They solved the problem. Great web site and useful videos. The knob was installed as well with the help of the video.

The Knob was no longer turning the dial to the different cycles
As seen on the video, simply get a needle nose pliers and look behind the dial for the retainer clip - carefully remove that and the dial is free from the post. Pull out your new dial and reatiner clip - remove the clip to where it is almost off the dial. Carefully slip the new dial over the post and push your retainer clip back to the resting position and your new dial should be locked on the machine.

Plastic Threads Worn Off Control Knob
Broke the old control knob to get to the clip holding it in place and removed old knob . Placed the new know on the threads and placed the new clip to hold the knob in place and walla, the dial now turns to select the wash cycle. Caution: be sure the dial is pushed in and the plastic teeth not slipping against the base where the knob seats into the control module. Or you will need to replace this part ever 2-3 years from wear.
