Last week my broiler element “blew up” sparking and flaring like it was on fire. When it cooled down a 2 inch section had “melted” from the element. I bought a new broiler element and installed it, but it still doesn’t heat up. I would appreciate any suggestions on what my next steps should be. Thank you—

Hello Shelley, thank you for reaching out. We researched your model and found that the issue is probably with the thermal fuse, part number FIX11747248, or the temperature sensor, part number FIX11748765. We suggest checking these parts, and if any of these parts are faulty, replace them. If this does not solve your problem, the issue is probably with the control board, part number FIX11745841. Broiler would not work
The repair was very simple and took less than 10 minutes. First remove the five screws that hold in the heating element. I recommend buying new screws when you order the element.
