How do I remove the spool head?
For model number p2003vnm
Hello Frank, thank you for your question. You do have to unscrew the whole lower housing to get at the motor to unscrew the old part and install the new part. That was about 16 screws to take out. One diamond on top of auto feeder slide broken off
Packed my patience. Could not find video on how to install new slider kit for an automatic feeder. Blindly removed 14 screws starting with shield and every screw on up the shaft encasing the motor and trimmer line. Then I couldn't pull it apart. Found two labeled areas tgat needed labels cut to split it open. Needed man power. After di
... Read moresassembling, cleaning dread grass away, putting in new unit after removing old unit, reversed my taking apart steps to put together. Ended up with a two inch long compression spring I can not find where it goes. The slider springs are there with the old and new units. Trimmer works okay. My suggestion is have area clean of everything so if an extra part shows up, you know it belongs to what you just took apart. Wish there was a video for auto feed line, not bumper nor gas trimmer, nor making auto feed into a manual feed.
