This is a genuine Black and Decker replacement part sourced from the manufacturer. The blade & gear are constructed of high-quality metal with plastic parts. This item is compatible with the LHT2436 Type 1 36V Hedge Trimmer. Once the blade & gear are secured into the gearbox assembly, the user can start trimming hedges and branches again. A wrench and a screwdriver are needed to make the replacement. This part is sold individually.

How much of a job will it be to replace this blade or would it better to buy a complete new hedge trimmer?

Hello Rick, Thank you for the question. It is an easy job that should only take about 15 to 30 minutes to complete and you will need a screw driver and a socket set to complete this repair. Use the diagram here for a reference. Remove the plastic handles and housing by removing the screws then remove the nuts securing the blades to the drive motor. Remove the blades and install the new blades. Reinstall the drive motor and the housing.
