WHen you turn on switch at the end of the cycle going down it makes a noise if you turn it off and turn the switch again it goes back up.

Thank you for your question. If your trash compactor is making a noise, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the drive gear, the directional switch, the power nut and the support roller kit. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts. Quit after 38 years. Suggested a switch (s) failure
Removed two screws on front panel which allowed panel to become easily reachable. Replacement of rotary switch kit very simple. Did not replace sectional switch at this time. Back in operation.

Bad On/Off switch
Removed the wires. Took out the old switch. Put in the new switch. replaced the wires. Everything worked great.
