Product Description

This part is a replacement refrigerator drive shaft seal for your refrigerator. The drive shaft seal protects the auger motor from water and condensation that may leak down the drive shaft from the ice bucket. If the seal is broken, water and condensation can get in, causing the ice maker to fail. To replace the seal, first remove the ice bucket from your freezer. Then remove the two screws on the drive shaft holder, and use a pair of pliers to remove the drive shaft. At this point you can remove the seal from the drive shaft. Be sure to clean the area that the seal sits in before you reinstall the drive shaft. This part is white in color and is about an inch in diameter. The seal is sold individually.

Tools:
Socket set
Freezer not dispensing Ice - dispenser motor working but Ice Auger & Blade not turning
Take the Ice bin out
Remove the 2 screws for the holder of the ice bar
If the seal is still there remove (mine had disintegrated)
Remove the ice bar if possible
Remove the dispenser motor cover and then remove the dispenser motor after disconnecting the electrics. (Located lower down in the freezer door.
Remove th e ice bar now if you couldn't before
clean and completely dry the dispenser motor. (This is important to avoid ice build up. My ice bar had the edges rounded where water had dripped into the socket and then pushed the ice bar up.
Re-install the dispenser motor and put the cover back on.
Put the new ice bar in (I also found it slightly longer than the old one which helped also. Put the new seal on (if you bought one).
Re-install the ice bar cover.
Make sure there is no moisture where the icebox sits or on the ice box, if there is it will raise the ice holder and my start rounding the edges of the ice bar again.
You're good to go!
