Pulled appliance away from wall for room to work. Shut off water and power. Inspected replacement part for best mounting position. Removed old part and cut off 1/2 in of plastic tubing for an unmarred piece of tubing to properly fit into the new fitting. I put teflon tape on the water input attachment point. nnection and mounted valve to appliance and then attached water line to tape covered mounting and inserted plastic tubing into valve, turned on water and plugged in power plug. All went well no leaks. I kept the refrigerator away from the wall for several cycles to make sure.

water valve leaking
removed the leaking and valve and replaced the new one. No problem. It took about 15 min.

The part arrived quickly and was very easy to install--However, I had difficulty getting a solid compression fitting connection with a new 1/4-inch copper line.
